Sarah Brannock has been named the first assistant coach in the history of the SBU volleyball program. Prior to being named assistant coach, Brannock had been the graduate assistnat for the past three years. “We are defiantly very excited about Sarah Brannock coming on as a full-time assistant,” coach Richardson commented at the hire of Brannock. “This is the first time in the history of the program that we have a paid full-time assistant. This is a huge step for our program, and proof that we are taking steps forward with our program. Sarah does an exceptional job, and is one of the hardest workers and is dedicated to this program. She is a mental, physical, and spiritual leader that this program really needs.” Brannock is a 2004 graduate of Ash Grove High School where she was a four-year starter at setter. She was an All-District First Team, All-Region Second Team and All State Second Team pick her senior year.
Brannock continued her volleyball career as a setter at Pittsburg State University. During her junior year, she was two-time MIAA Specialist of the Week, named All-MIAA Honorable Mention and broke the PSU single season school record for assists. As a senior she received CoSIDA ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors. Sarah was the captain of the PSU Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leadership Team and is an active member of the regional FCA. In recent summers she spent her time travelling around the Midwest leading FCA camps and coaching volleyball camps.
Brannock graduated from Piittsburg State in 2008 with her Bachelor of Science in biology. She continues working on her graduate degree in education at Southwest Baptist University.
